WASHINGTON - U.S. President Barack Obama promised to use all means available to stop the killings in Syria.
After meeting with Prime Minister of Denmark, Helle Thorning-Schmidt at the White House, Obama said he was encouraged by the growing international unity and will continue to keep pressure on Syria to prevent the slaughter of innocents.
"All of us who have seen terrible things happen in Syria. It is important for the international community to mobilize and send a clear message to President Assad that it is time to transition," Obama told reporters, as quoted by Xinhua news agency on Saturday (25 / 2).
He added that it was time for the regime to take a step forward and stop killing its own people.
